The public is invited to this Special Event in downtown Gatlinburg “Celebrating Our Appalachian Musical Roots” that will feature lots of free live entertainment at numerous venues in downtown Gatlinburg, Tn. VIP tickets are available that give you full access to all festival events including an opening night Kick Off Party and an official festival t-shirt. Check out the full schedule.
Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival Workshops
There are 4 great Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival (SMSWF) workshops for songwriters to hone their skills covering different aspects of songwriting. A partial description from the SMSWF website reads “Marty Dodson and Clay Mills are willing to open up their hearts and souls to you to let you know what it takes to write a classic from their own personal experiences. Hillbilly Culture is here to let you know from experience no matter how much talent you got, there is an education in the craft of songwriting. Doak Turner with the Nashville Muse is hosting an opportunity for you to hear first hand what Publishers are looking for and how to approach them to get a healthy dialogue started. Last but not least Kat Speer is teaching Photography from a behind the lens look. Know what the camera sees and doesn’t see so that when you picture is being made by family, friends, and fans who post on Facebook and other social medias that your energy and greatness as a songwriter is being projected.”
