Baskins Creek offers easy passage to downtown Gatlinburg with nothing more than location. A trip into Downtown Gatlinburg is only a few minutes by foot, putting you across the street from Mountain Mall and Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies. The city is pretty much your playground from there, and you don’t even have to drive to get back!
There’s a lot to do in town for the holidays, but there are five sure fire ways to fully enjoy the winterization of Gatlinburg for the holidays.
1. Stay inside by the fireplace!
Cozy and comfy in your Baskins Creek Vacation Rental is a great place to be for Christmas. Cook your favorite dinner, light the fire, make some cocoa and stay inside! How about some hot tub time for that favorite Santa of yours!
2. The Trolley Tour of Lights!
See Gatlinburg Winter Magic in action with a purchase towards the Trolley Tour of Lights. You got to see some of them on your way in, as you were busy fighting traffic and making sure you were watching for the right road to turn off to, now get to see them undistracted, in a properly heated city transport, and take all the pictures you want. The trolley centers at the Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies which is, guess what, right across the street from Baskins Creek! Just a few minutes walk is all it takes.
3. Ober Gatlinburg!
It goes without saying that Ober Gatlinburg is the place to go to in the winter. Not only is it a mountain top family fun center year round, it becomes the winter sports center of the county with events with skiing, snowboarding, ice skating and much more! People gather from miles around to have Alps style fun at Ober and if you’re looking for some real excitement that no one else offers, take a ride up to Ober Gatlinburg!
4. The Reason for the Season
Christus Gardens, now reopened as Christ in the Smokies, shows us the heart of the holidays. Without the birth of Christ, the holiday just doesn’t mean as much. Christ in the Smokies is a museum showcasing the life and dignity of Christ Jesus and has been a Number One showcase and attraction for Gatlinburg for decades. Its only a 10 minute walk from Baskins Creek and will prove to be a significant highlight to your trip!
5. The Village
No trip to Gatlinburg is complete without a trip to the Village. Easily Gatlinburg’s most atmospheric and unique shopping spot in the downtown area. Grab a donut from the legendary Donut Friar. Have a bite at the Cheese Cupboard. Take in some gorgeous artwork. Try on some fancy dresses. Have some breakfast at the Pancake Pantry! Its all there and its one of the first places you get to right outside of Baskin’s Creek!
Of course, there’s a lot more to do in Gatlinburg if you feel so inclined – and with Baskin’s Creek, you’ll be at the center of all of it and within easy walking distance to many of the shopping and attractions. Make your reservations with Baskin’s Creek today – convenience for the season doesn’t stay untouched for long!
