House Rules
Take a look around your unit when you arrive and call the office immediately if you have any questions or needs.Tell us immediately of any problems so we can get them fixed as soon as possible. Please do not wait until you get home to tell us your stay would have been better if something had been fixed. We want you to enjoy your stay and will work with you to that outcome.
Let’s face it, appliances occasionally malfunction and we can not guarantee them to perform 100% of the time. We do, however, guarantee to correct the problems as soon as possible during normal business hours. There will be no refunds or adjustments. If you have difficulty operating any of the appliances please call the front desk for assistance.
Motel refrigerators are turned off between visits. Please make sure the refrigerator is plugged in. Reach in and turn the controls to a medium setting.
Cabin & Condo refrigerator/freezer combos should always have both sides set on MEDIUM. Turning both controls on high will cause the unit to not cool properly. Many guests bring food from home and immediately fill the refrigerator this food that is room temperature or even hot from being in your trunk. It will not help to turn both the refrigerator and freezer on high in hopes of cooling your food faster. If you both the refrigerator and freezer on high you will divert the cool air out the back of the refrigerator and the interior will be hotter not cooler.
Distribute the food through out the interior space so that there is good circulation and realize that the most perishable foods should be refrigerated first and after they have cooled you can add additional foods. If your food has been in your trunk, just bringing it into the house will begin the cooling process. If you bring a lot of food and drinks from home consider purchasing 1 or 2 fresh bags of ice once you are in town. After you move whatever was in your cooler into the refrigerator the fresh ice can be used immediately for cooling drinks and sodas.
All units are non-smoking. If you smoke please utilize the decks or an outside area and extinguish and discard smoking materials in proper containers. You are responsible for any damage caused by smoking.
Daily maid service is provided in the motel only. Cleaning in all other units will be provided after you depart. If your unit does not have a washer/dryer you may exchange linens or towels at the front desk during business hours.
Kitchens: Liquid Soap is for hand washing dishes; Powder Soap is for the dishwasher. Never use liquid soap in the dishwasher. Dish washing is not a provided service. Please be sure to start the dishwasher before leaving or hand wash dishes. You will be chargedan additional $30.00 kitchen fee if you do not leave the kitchen clean.
Due to BEARS – always place bagged garbage in dumpsters or closed trash receptacles located outside of your unit. Additional garbage bags you may pick them up at the front desk. Please bag all trash before departure.
Checkout time is 10am; please adhere to this time so we may prepare the unit for the next arrival. As you depart please turn off all lights and appliances except the furnace and refrigerator. Make sure no water is left running. Check all drawers, rooms, and closets before leaving. We are not responsible for any items left behind.
Hot Tub & Jacuzzi Safety
This equipment is provided for your enjoyment and you are responsible for the proper use and care of these devices. These tubs are not recommended for children, pregnant women, people with health problems, or if you have had alcoholic beverages.
Never operate a hot tub or jacuzzi until it is filled above the jets to the proper level otherwise you may damage the motor. Never use soaps, lotions, or oils. Never tamper with the internal controls of the unit.
Each tub is different and designed to hold a certain number of people. Too many people will cause the water to overflow and the unit could malfunction and/or cause damage to flooring & drywall.
If there seems to be a problem, Do Not Operate the Hot Tub or Jacuzzi. Please call the office 436-7622 to report the problem.
Fireplace Safety
Firewood and kindling is available at all local grocery stores and most gas stations and quick stops. Remember: our trees are part of our local beauty- Be conservation minded and burn wood responsibly.
Always make sure that the damper is open, use the fireplace screen and never leave a wood fire unattended.
Never overload wood burning fireplace with logs. This could cause a chimney fire or overheating situation.
Never use lighter fluid, gasoline or large amounts of paper to start a fire, never roast marshmallows or attempt to cook in the fireplace.
Gas fireplaces always have a pilot light lit & turn on with a dial or timer switch. Call us if you smell gas. DO NOT BURN ANYTHING in gas fireplaces.
Heat & Air Conditioning
Set the thermostat to a comfortable setting and allow time for the unit to adjust. Setting the air conditioning below 65 degrees will cause the unit to freeze up and not operate.
Do not turn the heat off in the winter. When departing from your unit please set the thermostat at 55 degrees in winter and 75 degrees in summer.
If your unit is heating or cooling unevenly, check the vents to be sure they are open and not blocked with a suit case.
