It’s the end of September and we are all looking forward to the Autumn Leaf Season. It has been plenty warm this week (in the 90′s) but nights are cooler and next week the color change should get a nice boost in the way of much cooler temperatures. Wahoo!

So I drove into the mountains to get a ‘baseline’ picture and will get one at least weekly to share with everyone. This one I shot from the Gatlinburg Bypass and it overlooks Gatlinburg with Mount Le Conte in the background. There are just a few signs of the leaves beginning to change color in the foreground. You can tell it is a beautiful day with really nice visibililty. April and September are my favorite months here in the Smokies! The days are warm, the nights are cool and the humidity is almost always low so the views go on for miles. So this is the time to hike, bike, ride horse, drive the mountains, picnic, whatever you can think of in the way of an outdoor activity.
