“We enjoyed our stay and we will definitely use your services again. This was our second stay in Village Stream Condos (we were 2 door up the last time). The condo was well equipped, clean and comfortable. It would be nice to have the cable TV in the bedroom, though.

“We really enjoyed our recent stay at Twist and Shout. It was in a great location with breathtaking views. We were concerned about finding the place because of an earlier review, but we followed the provided directions carefully and arrived without incident.
I do have a few recommendations:]
1) I would list with the cabin amenities that it does have a DVD, washer and dryer, charcoal grill, 3 decks and internet access. These are excellent qualities that we were thrilled to discover on our arrival.
I had called and specifically asked about the grill and dvd, so I knew about the grill, but the cabin is not listed with all the other amenities.
2) We were also thrilled that there was a creek near enough to hear on the decks and in the house with the windows open.
3) There was a lot of trash below the cabin in the woods. This is probably the only real complaint we had. I realize the steep incline behind the cabin makes clean-up difficult, but it is distracting to see the trash, broken bottles and left-over halloween scarecrow below.
Thanks for a memorable vacation and we are already planning our next couples weekend.”
- slong170@comcast.net in Twist & Shout, 04/08/2008
[Thanks for your kind remarks we have added the creek to the web site and apologize for the trash. Maintenance has been sent to pick it up. It always disturbs us locals to find some guests have so little regard for our beautiful mountains and feel it is ok to toss their trash over the balconies instead of using trash cans provided. Mgr]
“The house was in great condition, and we were able to stay there very comfortably. We loved that there were 3 1/2 bathrooms! The kitchen table was large enough for all to gather around. There weren't as many kitchen supplies and utensils available as we had hoped (based on comparisons to other cabins we've rented), but we appreciated what was there. The unit was clean and orderly. We were disappointed to see that the game table was broken and disassembled when we arrived. We had hoped that the kids would keep busy playing air hockey. The table was repaired on Monday without any notice to us that someone would be entering the property, and it was on the day before we checked out. However, we were able to enjoy it for a few hours. All in all, it was a great house to stay in. The road where the house is located is very narrow and dangerous. Fortunately, we never had any issues with traveling up and down the road, although it has several blind spots.
Thanks for offering such a great property! This was our 2nd stay with Baskins Creek Rentals, and it was even smoother this time. The automatic check-in process is fabulous! We appreciated the call on our arrival date which gave us our door code and informed us that the unit was ready. In all the rushing around trying to get ready for our departure, it was nice to know that we didn't have to remember one more thing. Thanks!”

[Thanks for your great comments.
Many of our country roads are very narrow and we all use great caution when driving them. When you live here you get use to them but they can be quit scary for visitors. Just go slow and stay well on your side. Mgr]

“We enjoyed our stay. The condo was very clean.
You should check to be sure that the light bulbs are all replaced when needed, and that all bathroom fixtures(faucets) are tight.
If you could give information on using the long distance feature on the phone at the same time that you give out the door code, that would be helpful.
Thank you for a nice stay.

“We enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin was lovely. We had a wonderful get-a-way for two, and plan to return to the area in the future with some more of the family. When we do so, we will very likely use your service again.
Although we were satisfied, things were not perfect (things rarely are), so I do want to mention a few points.
--We had some trouble with the hot tub. It was way too hot but the themometer said it was only 62 degrees. We followed the directions posted on the wall but nothing seemed to work. We called the office and reported the trouble. The woman I spoke with said she would call maintanance to find out if it was something I could fix or if they needed to come out. She said someone would be there either that night or first thing in the morning at the latest but that she would call me back either way to let me know what they said. She never called back. About 10 am the next morning I called the office again to find out if they were coming since we wanted to head out for some activities. I was told they would be out that morning. We came back to the cabin about 2pm and nothing had been done. I called again and talked to Brian who said maintanance would be there in no more than two hours. I called back about 4:30 and Brain said it would be another hour or two, but that they would come that night. A nice young man did come out soon after that and fixed the tub. It didn't take two minutes to turn the temp down and empty some of the water, which we could probably have done ourselved if we had been told to do so. He told us not to pay any attention to the themometer; that they never work. That means the posted intructions are worthless. The problem did get fixed and we were able to use the hot tub, but it seems like a lot of time was wasted.
--For the most part the cabin was very clean and nice, but I had to move the bed out to retrieve the TV remote and it was unbelievably filthy under that bed.
--Your emailed instructions said that check-out was 10am but there is a sign above the kitchen sink that says check-out is 11am.
--Your web site says you have offices in both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Your phone tree gives directions to a Pigeon Forge office. But the person I talked to on the phone before we left Indiana said that you have never had Pigeon Forge office and that I had to either check in by phone or come into Gatlinburg. I am still confused by this one!
--It would be nice to have an extra trash bag or two in the cabin. By the second day our little kitchen waste basket was full but we could not find another trash bag to put in it. We had to dump the trash into the outside trash can without it being closed in a bag. No animals got into it, but I was afraid they might. There were a couple extra bathroom-sized bags in the bathroom waste basket but I did not realize that until I took out the trash before checking out.
I don't want you to think we were unhappy, I don't expect perfection, but you can't fix problems if you don't know they exist! So that you don't think I am an old grouch, I am going to comment on a few things that went right!
--Your web site is very easy to maneuver. I liked the fact that I could look at a description of a unit and see the availability and price of that unit all on the same page. This is why you got my business and not one of the other dozens of cabin rental companies with websites.
--It was our first time in the area but we had no trouble finding the cabin, your directions were perfect.
--It was so nice not to have to go all the way into Gatlinburg to check in and check out. Using a coded lock is a great idea.
--The cabin was beautiful! It was wonderfully decorated and the kitchen well stocked. There were appliances and kitchen gadgets that I would not have expected to be there, ie electric can opener, blender, grater, nice dishes and flatware (not just the cheep stuff or miss-matched).
--The guest books are a wonderful little plus. I had a great time reading what past guest had written. Many had returned to that very same cabin many times. Some spent their honeymoons there and then returned for anniversaries. Some had their love re-kindled during their stay. Reading their stories made me feel like I am part of the "Heaven Sent Family". Even my boyfriend enjoyed reading some of them and he is the worlds most unromantic person!
Finally, all of your staff that I have talked to on the phone and the one and only staff person I met in person, were pleasant, polite, and professional. Granted, some were more helpful than others, but all were courtious.
Assuming finances will allow, and Royce's health holds out long enough, we will be back for another visit. It was a wonderful vacation. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Ramona and Royce”

“MY WIFE AND I WERE CELEBRATING OUR 24 YEAR ANNIVERSARY, WE THOUGHT THE CABIN WAS AWSOME THE VIEW FROM THE HOT TUB WAS SO BEAUTIFUL, WE JUST RELAXED AND ENJOYED OUR CABIN. WE WOULD OF LIKED TO OF CHECKED IN A LITTLE EARLIER, MAYBE THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING TO CONSIDER, ALSO DRICTIONS COULD BE JUST A LITTLE BIT BETTER WE FOUND A QUICKER ROUTE TO OUR CABIN. BUT IT WAS SUCH A WONDERFUL 3 DAYS WE WILL BE BACK IN SEPTEMBER AND HOPE TO GET THE SOUTHERN PLEASURE CABIN AGAIN. OH YEA THE FLAT SCREEN TVS WERE GREAT AND THE POOL TABLE!!!!!!!!”

“Beyond Expectations and Black Bear Lodge
Both cabins were very nice. Beyond Expectations: loved the open floor plan, nice pool table, beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms, and nice living room area. Some of the pans were really old and in poor condition (the skillet).
We moved to the Black Bear cabin because additional family members were joining us - I was a little disappointed with the size - for 8 of us it was a bit cozy. The downstairs bathroom cabinet drawers were broken and unable to use. Lighting was dark in the downstairs and the bedrooms were smaller than I expected. Otherwise, we loved the view and the sunroom was great. This cabin had a few more pans and had videos and games which was nice.
Our family enjoyed our trip and our stay very much. A few extra amenities such as garbage bags, dishwasher soap, etc... would have been nice. We would recommend your rental company to others - very nice overall.”

“All in all our stay was excellent. The only complaint my kids had was that they didn't see any bears. I did think that the water in the hot tub was a little cloudy but other than that we had no complaints except for no remote in master bedroom for the tv. We thought the view was excellent and plan to come again when the weather is a little warmer. Thanks so much for everything, we will always remember it.”

“Great trip! This made our third trip to the Smoky Mountains and it was my favorite accomodation so far. The first trip we spent a week at a hotel in Gatlinburg, it was accually the owners apartment on the top floor. It was very nice and we had plenty of room but the view was just ok. The second trip we had a beautiful cabin but it was located about 12 miles from Gatlinburg which at the time did not seem to be a big deal. This trip I loved the cabin, location and view! I especially enjoyed the 3 levels with 2 children and my mother-in-law we had plenty of room to spread out and have some privacy. The unit had everything we needed with the exception of 3 big bees in the upstairs bedroom. (Time of year)
The accomodations were great and should we decide to visit I would be very happy to contact Baskins Creek to stay. Thanks so much!
Have a great summer.”
- Kay L. in Country Charm, 03/28/2008
“Our stay at the chalet was great. We like the location since most of the time we were in Pigeon Forge. The only suggestions we have was that we needed extra blankets since we only had the quilts on the beds. When it's in the 20's & 30's it gets quite chilly in the evenings. Also, the pillows were quite flat and we had to go buy others. But other than that all in all would recommend staying there to others.
Thank you

- Michale R. in M110, 03/23/2008
“We loved the cabin, and we really enjoyed our stay. Here are the items we loved:
1. Washer/dryer - came in handy after a wet hike.
2. Gas logs - loved that we did not have to fool with making a fire.
3. King beds - our 2 boys shared this bed and there was plenty of room.
4. Dishwasher - many cabins we have stayed in before did not have one.
5. Jacuzzi - we've only had indoor ones.
6. Pool Table - provided many hours of fun.
7. Movies - we watched several of the provided movies.
Here are the items that we suggest for improvement:
1. Better instructions on how to use the hot tub. We had a hard time figuring out how to turn it off.
2. Separate Direct TV received in master bedroom to allow someone to watch TV at night in bed as others are still watching TV in the living room or ability to play DVDs in
3. Large pan to cook items like soup or boil pasta or corn.”

The person who made my reservation and the one who called to give me my code were both very pleasant and helpful. I especially like the fact that you do not have to go somewhere to officially check in and you do not have to keep up with a key. I would definitely use your services again. Thanks!”

“We had a delightful weekend and the view from Bear Ridge was truly spectacular. We found the accomodations to be a good fit for our group and since the weather was wonderful we made great use of all the decks and hot tub.
The only thing I might suggest is to add some type of baking sheet or pizza pad and a couple of sharp knives, other than that we found most every thing that we needed.
The ease of check-in via the telephone was great. We took your advise and made a preliminary trip up the mountain to locate our cabin so that when it was time to check in we knew exactly where we were going.
Thank you for a very enjoyable weekend and we will keep you in mind for our next trip.

The only suggestion I would make is for you guys to put cleaning tools "broom & dust pan" in the townhouse for cleaning purposes during the stay. “Overall we really enjoyed it. There are a few things that would have made it an outstanding stay. Speaking from past experience with my own high speed internet, I think you should have a dedicated cable just for the internet. When splitting the incoming signal you will never be able to get online. I had to disconnect the incoming cable and plug it directly into the modem to be able to get online.
We did not realize until our last night that the hot water heater was either slow in recovering from one previous bath or that it possibly does not have the capacity to fill the tub with enough hot water to cover the jacuzzi jets to be able to enjoy that feature of the cabin.
The internet is not a problem for me but I will definitely be checking on the hot water heater before I rent another cabin from anyone.”

Having the hot tub and jacuzzie, we really needed more towels and washcloths. But, we made do with what we had. Other than that, it was wonderful. We were celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary. What an anniversary it was! One we will talk about for years to come. Thanks!”

WE LIKE THE FUN ATMOSPHERE OF THIS CABIN. IT ALLOWED US TO CUT LOSE AND HAVE FUN FUN FUN !!! THE ONLY THING IT WAS LACKING WAS INTERNET......... GOOD SUGGESTION TO ADD FOR THE UPSTAIRS LOFT SITTING AREA.

We would be very intrested in staying there next year when we come. We come every year in February with our family. Which includes 12 of us. Each couple had their own bathroom also which was also great. We will recomend you to all our friends, espically the larger groups.”

“There are a few kitchen utensils that I would reccomend providing such as: pizza pan, pizza cutter, or a cookie sheet. Unfortunately, we had to leave a day early, forfeiting our 'free' night! We do want to return! We had a lovely, relaxing time and it really was an "Awesome View"! Thank you for all that you provide to make everyone feel so welcome!”

“For the price we paid we wish our room would have had a mircowave and hair dryer like most hotel rooms, but overall we were very pleased with our stay and cant wait to come back.”

“We had a wonderful experience. The cabin was beautiful, spacious without a lot of clutter. It more than met out expectations. In fact I plan on trying to make reservations for Thanksgiving soon. Thank you for a great vacation. We made some great memories.”

“We had a wonderful stay on New Years Eve. Nice room, loved the porch swing and the fire place. Convenient to down town yet back out of the crowd. Very good customer service, polite and efficient staff. Will stay there again and have recommended you to friends and family. Have also posted good reviews on the trip advisor.”

“We enjoyed our stay with you very much. We came into town on Friday and got married on Saturday. Everything about the cabin was better than we expected. It was very clean and we loved it!!!!
Your staff was very professional and helpful, too. We will definitely stay with you again!!!!
Do you have any vacancies for the upcoming car show in the fall of 2008???? I would appreciate it if you could let me know!!! Thanks again for the wonderful experience!!!”

“We really enjoyed our stay, the Townhouse had everything we needed. A lot of room, good kitchen space and living space. We hope to be there again, same time same place next year.”

“We stayed in Lovers Lair over the weekend (12/6-12/9) and really enjoyed it. The hot tub cover needs replacing or repairing, we didn't get in it because of the hole in the top (we're a bit germ-a-phobic, I wiped down the jacuzzi with clorox wipes lol). The game room was fun. My only real complaint, and it isn't even that big of one, the mattress could either use a good flip or replacing. It's worn in the middle and made my husband's back hurt and my neck hurt. Other than that, great decor, beautiful surroundings. We hated to leave, we wanted to stay and relax longer!! Thank you for making our honeymoon so great”

“We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and it was so clean and cozy. I greatly appreciated the express check-in and all staff that I have interacted with have been super helpful and friendly. The only thing I saw needing improvement was the pool table. The pool table was in poor shape and that greatly impacted the games being played on it.”

“My wife and I had a great time, we have NO complaints and had NO problems. The staff was very friendly. The only suggestion I have is for you to send out a e-mail to previous guest on specials that you are running on the rooms and cabins and also different events that are going on in the smokey mountain area... my wife are looking forward to our next vacation... Thanks again.”

“We really appreciated our stay in "The Breeze" cabin. It was nice to have simple things like paper towels and toilet paper. The cabin was great. There were 4 adults and 2 toddlers that stayed during our visit. We did find a couple things that were not as we thought they were going to be- 1) the instructions for getting in the door stated that there were 2 doorknobs (there was only one), 2) we were supposed to call on the phone in the cabin when we arrived and when we were checking out (the phone did not work). We tried the fireplace, but decided that the heat upstairs from the fire shut down the thermostat, so that the downstairs was cold. All in all, we really enjoyed our visit- thanks!!!”

“Our stay was great, don't know of anything that would have made it any better. Will recommend your cabins to anyone that asks about our stay. Thank you for providing us with a relaxing weekend.”

“I wanted to let you know that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your King of the Mountain chalet. It was very nice and accommodated my group of 16 very nicely. We loved the fact that it was so spread out so we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. We had a great time and will probably come back again every year. However, we were very disappointed to see that there was a cabin being built right in the front door. I think that will cut out the beauty of King of the Mountain being tucked away by itself. That was another perk about the cabin. We felt like we were out in the woods with no one else around.
The only suggestion I might give would be to put an ice machine in the bar area downstairs. It seemed that with 16 people the ice maker in the refrigerator was not producing enough ice so we were constantly running out of ice. We'll just know next time to bring bags of ice.
Again, can't say enough about how perfect the cabin fit my group. I'm sure we'll be back.”

“Everything was good except the checkout time was a little early and the check in time a little late.”
- Brett S. in Wolf Run,
[Next time feel free to ask for a later check out time we always try to accomadate. Check prior to arrival if the cabin is empty and clean you can check in as early as 1:00 PM.]
